About Me

My photo
Alethea
I take photos of anyone I see on the street who I find interesting for whatever reason, and who agrees to be photographed. I never take sneaky and only rarely unnoticed shots. For me a portrait is about a mutual transaction. If they're not into it, nor am I. When I take a photo, if the person seems reluctant and isn't giving me anything, I thank them but immediately delete the image. I take every communication seriously and it spoils the photo for me if I feel they weren't completely happy, as if I've stolen something. I also offer to send prints if people are interested, to say thanks. I'm happiest when I spot someone or a group of people and I know what a brilliant image they'll make and they agree. That is a great moment.
